Samsung Smart TVs are among the best televisions money can buy, and their Tizen OS platform supports multiple IPTV setup methods. Whether your Samsung TV was made in 2017 or 2024, you have options. This guide covers every method for getting IPTV working on your Samsung Smart TV, from native app installation to using an external streaming stick.
Check Your Samsung TV Compatibility
Before you start, verify that your Samsung TV supports IPTV apps. Navigate to Settings > Support > About Smart TV and check the Tizen OS version. TVs running Tizen 3.0 and above (models from 2017 onwards) have the best app support. Older models may have a more limited app store selection.
Method 1: IPTV Smarters Pro (Easiest)
Open the Samsung Smart Hub by pressing the Home button on your remote. Navigate to the Apps section and search for IPTV Smarters Pro. Install the app. Once installed, open it and log in with your GetLiteIPTV Xtream Codes API credentials. This is the fastest method and requires no additional hardware.
Method 2: Smart IPTV App
Smart IPTV is a dedicated Samsung TV IPTV app with excellent EPG support. Search for it in the Samsung App Store and install it. After opening, the app shows your TV's MAC address. You will need to use this MAC address to activate your GetLiteIPTV subscription for this specific TV — contact our support team for assistance.
Method 3: SS IPTV
SS IPTV is available in the Samsung App Store and supports both M3U playlists and Xtream Codes. It has a user-friendly interface with a good EPG grid. After installing, go to Settings > Playlist and add your GetLiteIPTV M3U URL or API credentials.
Method 4: Amazon Firestick (Most Versatile)
For the most feature-rich and future-proof setup, plug an Amazon Firestick into any available HDMI port on your Samsung TV. This gives you access to every IPTV app (IPTV Smarters, TiviMate, etc.) and means your IPTV setup is independent of your TV model or age. Simply switch to the HDMI input when you want to watch IPTV.
Method 5: Chromecast from Phone
Samsung TVs with SmartThings support can receive screen casts from Android phones. Open your IPTV app on your Android phone, tap the Cast icon, and select your Samsung TV. This works well for occasional use but is not ideal as a primary setup.
